Artists-In-Education
Artists-In-Education, or AIE, is a cooperative program between our members and schools, community, youth, and senior centers. Students experience hands-on learning in music and the crafts. Carefully selected performers or crew come into the schools to share their talent or craft and inspire students to learn new skills. Rhythm and Roots serves as the bridge for coordinating each event. AIE is primarily funded by grants and will be provided to area schools and community centers at no charge to them. It is an extension of our Music Mentorship Program The Artists-In-Education program links professional performers and crew with students of all ages, from school children to senior citizens. Though the program takes place most frequently in schools, excellent sites also include churches, youth facilities, and Senior Centers. The program is ongoing and is designed to complement State education standards for arts curriculum by providing hands-on experience with performing artists and craft professionals.
