Artists-In-Education

Artists-In-Education, or AIE, is a cooperative program between our members and schools, community, youth, and senior centers. Students experience hands-on learning in music and the crafts. Carefully selected performers or crew come into the schools to share their talent or craft and inspire students to learn new skills. Rhythm and Roots serves as the bridge for coordinating each event. AIE is primarily funded by grants and will be provided to area schools and community centers at no charge to them. It is an extension of our Music Mentorship Program

Serving Our Community

The Artists-In-Education program links professional performers and crew with students of all ages, from school children to senior citizens. Though the program takes place most frequently in schools, excellent sites also include churches, youth facilities, and Senior Centers. The program is ongoing and is designed to complement State education standards for arts curriculum by providing hands-on experience with performing artists and craft professionals.

Artists-In-Education Roster

An artists and crew directory listing the members and services AIE provides will be sent out to public schools each Fall. The roster is updated regularly; applications are available at this web site. Professionals who enjoy teaching are encouraged to apply. Schools or groups interested in having an Artists-In-Education program may choose a member who best fits their needs from a roster of local and regional members. Each school or group is responsible for choosing an on-site coordinator who works closely with our AIE coordinator to determine program requirements. The site coordinator and our member then meet to discuss details. The Artists-In-Education Roster will be available HERE!

To inquire about the AIE Program for your school or group, email us below with "AIE" in the subject line and include some basic info on your needs.
