To Our Community
The
following letter went out to a great number of Community Groups, local,
regional, and national, involved in a broad range of social,
environmental, political, and other issues. If you are, or know of a group
that would benefit from this kind of outreach and visibility, please
contact us at the email address below.

Hello ,
As a middle school teacher specializing in at-risk youth, I have great
respect and admiration for the wonderful work Community Groups like yours
does. I would like to offer you an opportunity to let more people in our
community know about your program.
I am a partner in Rhythm and Roots.
The primary activity of Rhythm and Roots is to produce a series of
concerts and productions for and on behalf of community based nonprofit
groups, creating visibility and increasing awareness for both the
performers, and those community groups. Rock the Future! is a musical
umbrella under which community groups, charities, performers, businesses, and the general
public can bond through a common, shared experience to create an
atmosphere of hope and change.
Rock the Future! is a vision about how we can make the world we live in
better today. It is about finding solutions to issues that concern all of
us. Sustainability is at the core of those. We believe the definition of a
more sustainable world should include dealing with issues of poverty, education,
violence, intolerance, and global warming among others.
We believe that education through public awareness campaigns is an
effective tool for social change. We further believe that the musical and
entertainment stages of the world have long been a powerful vehicle for
making political, social, and environmental statements.
In practical terms, we are inviting community groups to set up booths,
network and mingle with other groups, and do outreach from the stage
between performers, at no cost to them. All with the backdrop of great
live music. Please see our website at: www.RockTheFuture.org and click on our
Mission page.
Off the Grid Music Festival is the first of our Rock the Future!
productions. Our Mission page also includes a link to biographical
information about me, my wife Ruby, and our partner Larry Bailey.
We would be honored to have you participate in our event. We can offer you
booth space, free tickets for all volunteers, and time between performers
on the stage to do education and outreach.
Thanks again for taking time to consider this. We do hope we see you
at the festival.
